I think sertasheep put it right. For Indian MBBS, US trained docs the best options outside US are the middle east, Dubai in particular, and India. In India Appolo and Escorts hire foreign trained docs but remember India also does not recognize US PG degree so they cannot work in Govt hospitals but they can always open their own shop just on the basis of MBBS and boldly put US degree on the big board. India is truly the land of the free in this respect. You cannot even imagine doing this in US or any other developed country.
But do not write off Canada just yet because there are still some jobs there for physicians and it's not as if US trained docs are not allowed at all. Canada is worth giving a shot but Australia, New Zealand, UK, etc. are all closed and dead options for a variety of reasons ranging from licensing process, immigration process, very few training positions, very scarce medical jobs, racism, discrimination etc. Middle East has it's own issues specially if you are not a Muslim although Dubai is quite modern and welcoming but kids will be influenced and politics there is also quite nauseating. That just leaves you with India and you already know the ins and outs of it.

How many years of years of W-2 form copies do we need to attach, when we file I-485 applications?
The more the better. Maybe you don't need to file them at all but rather than risk getting an RFE later, send them as much info as possible.

An RFE shouldn't be too bad, you just waste a week or so. You'll be ok in any case.

I am in the same boat. I have recieved my 2nd EAD with wrong dates (validity dates same as my 1st EAD). Called USCIS and was told to fill out I-765 and along with the card and send it back to service center (w/o any fees).
Just curious if it worked out for you, as I am afraid that I don't want to re-start my 90-day clock all over again.

I am worried if USCIS will be sending the copy of the experience letter for verification?
If the letter looks altered and if the ink and shade of your addition looks different from ink/shade of other text, then yes, they would doubt. If they doubt, they will follow procedure and verify the document's authenticity. I am not sure, check with lawyer but I think they will do that via RFE/inquiry. In that case, if you have LIN number, then case status will be updated and you will know that "Something" from USCIS is headed to your employer/lawyer for inquiry or verification. The online status info wont tell you what it is, but you will know if something from USCIS is on the way for inquiry/RFE.
Check all info I provided here with a lawyer. I am not a lawyer.
If that happens, you may want to really get a good attorney to provide you with options.

Does anyone know if people on H4 are allowed to work unpaid? For example, can a person on an H4 visa file for an H1B visa with a start date of October 1st, 2007 but work on a volunteer basis (i.e., unpaid) at the same job while waiting for the H1B to come?

It looks like my lawyer has already mailed the application to USCIS. The priority dates becomes current only on July 1st.
What are my options here? Does anyone has faced such a situation?
Some people did same mistake for June buliten they filed in may and still they didn't get their applications back. Check with some good lawyer and file once again in first week of July. If you don't send them back by EOM and if dates get retrogress you will be in serious problem.

Congress created the H-1B program in 1990 to enable U.S. employers to hire temporary, foreign workers in specialty occupations. The law capped the number of H-1B visas issued per fiscal year at 65,000. Since then, the cap has fluctuated with legislative changes. Congress asked GAO to assess the impact of the cap on the ability of domestic companies to innovate, while ensuring that U.S. workers are not disadvantaged. In response, GAO examined what is known about (1) employer demand for H-1B workers; (2) how the cap affects employer costs and decisions to move operations overseas; (3) H-1B worker characteristics and the potential impact of raising the cap; and (4) how well requirements of the H-1B program protect U.S. workers. GAO analyzed data from 4 federal agencies; interviewed agency officials, experts, and H-1B employers; and reviewed agency documents and literature.
In most years, demand for new H-1B workers exceeded the cap: From 2000 to 2009, demand for new H-1B workers tended to exceed the cap, as measured by the numbers of initial petitions submitted by employers who are subject to the cap. There is no way to precisely determine the level of any unmet demand among employers, since they tend to stop submitting (and the Department of Homeland Security stops tracking) petitions once the cap is reached each year. When we consider all initial petitions, including those from universities and research institutions that are not subject to the cap, we find that demand for new H-1B workers is largely driven by a small number of employers. Over the decade, over 14 percent of all initial petitions were submitted by cap-exempt employers, and only a few employers (fewer than 1 percent) garnered over one-quarter of all H-1B approvals. Most interviewed companies said the H-1B cap and program created costs, but were not factors in their decisions to move R&D overseas: The 34 H-1B employers GAO interviewed reported that the cap has created some additional costs, though the cap's impact depended on the size and maturity of the company. For example, in years when visas were denied by the cap, most large firms reported finding other (sometimes more costly) ways to hire their preferred job candidates. On the other hand, small firms were more likely to fill their positions with different candidates, which they said resulted in delays and sometimes economic losses, particularly for firms in rapidly changing technology fields. Limitations in agency data and systems hinder tracking the cap and H-1B workers over time: The total number of H-1B workers in the U.S. at any one time--and information about the length of their stay--is unknown, because (1) data systems among the various agencies that process such individuals are not linked so individuals cannot be readily tracked, and (2) H-1B workers are not assigned a unique identifier that would allow for tracking them over time--particularly if and when their visa status changes. Restricted agency oversight and statutory changes weaken protections for U.S. workers: Elements of the H-1B program that could serve as worker protections--such as the requirement to pay prevailing wages, the visa's temporary status, and the cap itself--are weakened by several factors. First, program oversight is fragmented and restricted. Second, the H-1B program lacks a legal provision for holding employers accountable to program requirements when they obtain H-1B workers through a staffing company. Third, statutory changes made to the H-1B program have, in combination and in effect, increased the pool of H-1B workers beyond the cap and lowered the bar for eligibility. Taken together, the multifaceted challenges identified in this report show that the H-1B program, as currently structured, may not be used to its full potential and may be detrimental in some cases. Related to Point 3 ,reason why im trying to this is to avoid all of us leaving country due to non approval of my COS, I dont have luxury to stay on L1 beyond next 2 months..
well, i realistically see two options here:
1. Get your family here ASAP and apply COS for all. If your COS gets approved, most likely theirs will get approved as well. You can do yours in premium and theirs by regular. As long as they get the receipt within 2 months, they'll be in status.
2. You can apply COS for yourself in premium and ask your family to stamp H4. If they get stuck in 221g, then it could be months before they get here. That's the downside.
Your L1 visa stays if your COS gets rejected, so you don't have to leave immediately.

8/21/2008 : Talk with the California Service Center (hopefully)
Me: My case has been transferred all of a sudden to California with the PD became current (on july 21, 2008), why ?
Answer: Your case has been sent back to TSC on Aug. 15th. We do not have the case any more. You can call TSC to confirm.
8/22/2008: Talk with Customer Service
Customer Service: Your case is still in California.
9/2/2008 : Info pass appointment. Talk with IO
IO: Your case is still in TSC but will be transferred to CSC soon.
I cannot believe such an organization exists in the world.

Somehow prove that you were undocumented(illegal) before Jan 2004 to claim that benefit.
If you were legally present and have always been legal then the benefit does not apply and you have to wait for your turn in the line for greencard.
